Lviv

This past week, I spent a couple of days in Lviv.  It's a beautiful city in western Ukraine that dates back to the early 1200s.  It's a great little city that has so much to offer.  You can go explore the churches that dot every block or just relax at one of the many cafes.

Snow

It snowed the past couple of days and I love it.  It is just so peaceful watching it fall and SO much to play in.  The park I walk through looks lovely in white!

Quick Catch Up!

Since I have really fallen behind on blogging, here is a quick recap since December.  I went home to Texas for Christmas and loved every minute of it.  I really enjoyed seeing all my friends and family and got to snuggle with my dog, Molly.

I came back to Kiev and it was freezing cold but beautiful.  The city was covered in white.  I loved it.  Now the temp. is always above freezing and the after we got past the snow melting and leaving behind massive puddles, it now almost feels like spring.  I laugh when it's about 40 degrees and I think "gosh, it's warm outside".  Hopefully, this isn't the calm before the storm and a huge blizzard comes.  I think I have really lucked out with the weather in Ukraine so far.

My grandfather passed away at the end of January.  I was determined to jump on a plane and come home but time and money were not on my side.  So I stayed here.  I have to say thank you to all my friends and family here and abroad that supported me!

I really do not have much to report on.  Life here is pretty uneventful. School is great.  I love my students.  They are always making me smile.  I wore a pair of jeans with a white t-shirt and a black suite jacket to work yesterday.  One of my students asked why I looked so nice today?  I said "don't I always look nice?"  Her response "No, not this nice" :)

New Fridge!

Very exciting news!  I have a new refrigerator!  My landlord surprised me with it a couple of weekends ago..yes, it took me this long to blog about it.

This is my old teeny tiny one..could barely hold anything and don't even think about putting stuff in the smaller than a shoebox freezer.

And this is my HUGE new one!  I love it!!  And I can freeze things!
